The Medieval week

Hova in July. The reveille sounds from the town guard. This is the beginning of a fantastic medieval week, with the biggest daily knight parade and tournaments to be seen in the Nordic countries. The villagers turn out to a man, dresses in medieval clothes and invites You all to join the festivities. Knights in shining armor encounter each other every night in the fight for the kingdom of Sweden.
Jesters and fire-eaters touches up the evening with their tricks, and in Barnens Riddarland (the children’s own theme park ), that opens at 12.00 is perfect for adventure loving children. Here you can rumble in the knight’s castle, make your own medieval things and so on. Knights, theaters and jesters visit the theme park to the delight of all the small princes and princesses. Do not miss the walking tour “Trail of the jesters”!

Knightvillage

Close by the theme park it is very busy. Craftsmen are making and selling their products. The town guards maintain the order among the medieval villagers, and some poor creature might end up in the block for a short time.
Here you find burning stumps, fragrant herbs, magic stones and plenty of other medieval things that belong to that period in time. Here you can also buy dresses, armors and other clothes if you want to change into a medieval guise for a day or more.

Ladulås’ Barn

If you get hungry, Ladulås’ Barn is serving food from 12 o’clock, for example spicy cabbage soup with bread, beer and coffee. The pork is barbequed over the charcoal grill and is served with a secret salad and nice tasting potatoes. Enjoy!
Every night we amuse ourselves in the barn; jesters, magicians, knights, troubadours and practical jokers.

Summernight

Late at night, when the mist is covering the valleys where the medieval kings rode their tour of the country, maybe we’ll visit a concert in the church or just enjoy the fragrances in the warm summernight. The villagers sleep for a short while but continues the next day, and the next…Yes, for nine whole days it is medieval week in Hova!
